The President's Office
 

Dr. Albert J. D. Aymer came to Hood in 1994 as Dean and Professor of New Testament. When the Seminary separated from Livingstone College in 2001, he became its first President.

A native of Antigua, he holds degrees from Union Theological Seminary in Jamaica (Dip.Th., 1963); the University of London (Dip.Th.,1963); Lancaster Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1970); and Drew University (M.A., 1978, M.Phil., 1980, Ph.D., 1983). In addition, he was awarded an honorary degree from Catawba College (D.D., 2001).

Before coming to Salisbury, Dr. Aymer served for twelve years in the Theological School of Drew University as Associate Dean and Director of the Doctor of Ministry program. He has also served since 1996 as a member of the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS).

An ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, he has pastored congregations of the Methodist Churches in the Caribbean in St. Vincent, Grenada, Barbados, and Tobago. He also served as Assistant Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Englewood, New Jersey and as Senior Pastor of the Morristown United Methodist Church in Morristown, New Jersey. He is frequently sought as a preacher or speaker for various churches and other organizations.
