Graduate Certificate in Christian Education (GCCE) Program
Graduate Certificate in Christian Education (GCCE)
This 15-hour certificate program is designed for students seeking to prepare themselves to be Christian educators on a basic level. All persons with an accredited baccalaureate degree or its educational equivalent are eligible to apply, along with those who graduated with a GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited associate degree program. Only courses in which students earn grades of “C” or higher will count towards the certificate.
• Biblical Studies: (select one) (3-credit hours)
o BST 112 Introduction to NT 1 Gospels and Acts – 3 hours
OR
o BST 113 Introduction to NT II Epistles and the Apocalypse - 3 hours
• History of Christianity/Theology and Ethics: (select one) (3 credit hours)
o CHT 115 History of Christianity in a Global Context – 3 hours
AND/OR
o TSE 110 Systematic Theology I - 3 hours
• Christian Education Core Requirement: (3 credit hours)
o PTH 120 Foundations and Principles of Christian Education - 3 hours
• Christian Education Electives: (select two) (6 credit hours)
o Electives chosen from the “Christian Education” section of the Area IV master course listings in the Seminary Catalogue
