Donations of Stock and Securities

Make gifts to Hood Theological Seminary by shares of stock, mutual funds, or appreciated securities.

To gift securities held by the donor, send or deliver your certificates—without any endorsement or assignment—by First Class mail, along with a letter of transmittal giving your name, address, and purpose of the gift, to the Office of Institutional Advancement. In a separate envelope, mail or deliver to the Seminary a stock power for each security, left blank except for your signature. Be sure to sign the power exactly as your name appears on the certificate and have your signature guaranteed by your bank or broker. Stock powers are available from any bank or brokerage firm.

Endowment Gifts and Funds

An endowed fund creates a permanent legacy at Hood Theological Seminary. Endowed funds will ensure the future solvency of the Seminary through the Restricted Endowment Fund, endowed scholarships, endowed faculty chairs and unrestricted endowment funds for capital projects. The Restricted Endowment Fund is a growing permanent fund that will one day provide another income stream for the Seminary. The funds for endowed chairs and scholarships are also placed in the restricted endowments of the Seminary and will provide lasting resources for quality professorships and future Hood students. You too may start building an endowment. The minimum to start an endowed fund is $25,000. For more information, contact Tyesia Walker, Gift Administration and Donor Relations Coordinator, Office of Institutional Advancement at 704-636-6926 or via email at twalker@hoodseminary.edu.

Matching Gift Program

Does your employer (or your spouse's employer) have a matching gift program? If so, please remember to submit your request to your company to have your gift to Hood Theological Seminary matched. Matching gifts are a very important source of support for Hood! You can double or even triple the value of your donation by simply notifying your employer of your gift to the Seminary. If you have any questions about how to have your gift matched, contact Tyesia Walker, Gift Administration and Donor Relations Coordinator, Office of Institutional Advancement at 704-636-6926 or via email at twalker@hoodseminary.edu.
