SIGNIFICANCE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESENCE DURING WW II

HTS will host a panel discussion on the significance of the African American Presence in World War II. Dr. Torren Gatson, Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Mr. Reginald Brown, esteemed local historian, will reflect on how the African American presence in World War II contributed to the integration of the military and the dismantling of racist societal mores in the latter half of the twentieth century. Dr. Sharon Grant, HTS Assistant Professor of the History of Christianity, will be the moderator. Free and open to the public!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH OBSERVANCE

Wednesday, February 13 and Saturday, February 16,
1 pm in the Aymer Center

Dr. Mary Love, Adjunct Professor of Christian Education, will give a presentation on "Black Migration in the Twentieth Century." HTS will also observe Black History month with special videos during lunch on Wednesday, February 20 and Saturday, February 23. The HTS community is invited to wear African/African American attire the week of February 19 - 23.
