Hood Theological Seminary invites you to join scholars, practitioners, and people of faith for the ICFSH 2025 Fall Conference, an inspiring virtual event exploring “The Spirit and Science of Energy.”

This year’s theme asks a profound and timely question: How might people of faith understand energy?

The conference will engage participants in an interdisciplinary dialogue on energy conservation, energy justice, and energy supply—challenging us to think deeply about how our spiritual commitments intersect with one of the most pressing global issues of our time.

Conference Focus

The ICFSH 2025 Fall Conference will consider energy through three key dimensions:

  • Energy Conservation – Practical stewardship of natural resources as an expression of faith and responsibility.
  • Energy Justice – Addressing inequities in access, cost, and environmental impact within communities of color and marginalized populations.
  • Energy Supply – Understanding innovation, ethics, and equity in global energy systems through theological reflection.

Together, these themes encourage reflection on how faith can inform ethical and sustainable responses to global energy challenges.

About the Conference

The ICFSH (Institute for the Crossroads of Faith and Science at Hood) hosts annual conferences that bring together voices from theology, science, ethics, and community leadership. This year’s event—supported by AAAS DoSER (Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion)—continues the tradition of bridging scientific insight with spiritual understanding to advance meaningful, values-based dialogue.
