VISITING PROFESSOR JOINS THE HOOD THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY FACULTY

Dr. Jennifer L. Aycock joins the Hood Theological Seminary (HTS) faculty as an Assistant Visiting Professor of History of Christianity for the 2023 – 2024 academic year, effective July 1, 2023. Dr. Aycock previously served as an Instructor on Record at Columbia Theological Seminary, Atlanta, GA and as a Teaching Assistant and Teaching Associate at Emory University, Candler School of Theology. She completed her Ph.D., with a concentration in Religious Practices and Practical Theology from the Emory University, Laney Graduate School, Atlanta, GA. Her dissertation title: Becoming an African Noah: John Chilembwe Prophetic Missionary Consciousness in the Black Atlantic (1872-1915). In addition, she completed the Master of Theology (Th.M.) from Emory University, Candler School of Theology and the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, IL. She is the recent recipient of a Research Fellowship from the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, The New York Public Library. Moreover, she has published articles and presented papers, internationally. She is currently the Annual Conference Coordinator for the American Society of Missiology. Finally, she is a member of the American Academy of Religion (AAR), the American Society of Church History (ASCH) and the American Society of Missiology (ASM).
